Local Community Mourns the Loss of Curtis Korff

The community is saddened by the passing of Curtis Korff, who died on August 17, 2025, at the age of 89. Mr. Korff was a long-time resident and a well-known figure in the area.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ann M. Korff, who passed away in 2023, and his son, Charles Korff. He leaves behind his children: Robert (Debbie) Korff, Richard (Liz Murphy) Korff, Daniel (Anita) Korff, and Sharon (James) Brennan, as well as his daughter-in-law Pamela Korff. Mr. Korff was also a grandfather to Justin, Charles, Jeffery, Bryan, Timothy, Ashley, Daniel, and Luke Korff, Ann and Kate Brennan, and a great-grandfather to Austin, Jackson, Madison, Mackenzie, and Mason. He was also survived by his loving dog, Max.

Born to the late Charles and Elizabeth (nee Derner) Korff, he was a 1954 graduate of Tonawanda High School. Mr. Korff dedicated 52 years of service to the National Hose Vol. Fire Co. of Tonawanda. He also worked for NY Telephone-AT&T for over 30 years.

Mr. Korff had a passion for the outdoors, particularly enjoying summers at his cottage on Silver Lake. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often walking his dogs.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the SPCA of Erie County or Salem United Church of Christ, Tonawanda, NY. Condolences and memories can be shared online.
