UFC Announces Paramount+ Partnership with Star-Studded Fight Card

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to launch its new partnership with Paramount+ on January 24th with a highly anticipated fight card. The event, UFC 324, will feature a bout between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett for the interim lightweight championship. The announcement was made by UFC CEO Dana White during a recent sporting event.

The co-main event will showcase Kayla Harrison defending her bantamweight title against former champion Amanda Nunes. This marks Nunes' return to the octagon after announcing her retirement, which will end in January. Harrison secured the bantamweight title in June 2025.

The new deal with Paramount+ will make all UFC cards available to the streaming service's subscribers in the United States and Latin America. This represents a shift from the UFC's previous pay-per-view model for major events.

Ilia Topuria, the current lightweight champion, is temporarily ceding his title. Topuria cited personal reasons for his decision, stating he needs to focus on his family. He plans to return to competition once his personal matters are resolved.

BNN's Perspective: The move to Paramount+ is a significant one for the UFC, potentially expanding its reach and accessibility to fans. While the loss of pay-per-view revenue is a factor, the increased exposure could lead to long-term growth. The card itself is promising, with the Gaethje-Pimblett fight and Nunes' return generating considerable excitement. The success of this partnership will depend on Paramount+'s ability to deliver a seamless viewing experience and attract new subscribers.
