Combs, 55, was arrested last September on charges including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The trial has sparked intense online speculation, particularly concerning Combs' past relationship with Bieber, who he befriended when the "Baby" singer was a teenager.

Bieber's representatives emphasized that while Justin was never a victim, focusing on him distracts from the real victims of Combs' alleged actions. A 2009 YouTube video shows Combs showing Bieber a Lamborghini and hinting at exclusive activities. The Daily Mail reported in October 2024 that some sources close to Bieber were not happy with the relationship. However, multiple sources close to Bieber have since moved to quell speculation, confirming that Combs never sexually or otherwise abused the singer.
