Kirby and the Forgotten Land Gets a Switch 2 Upgrade: Star-Crossed World
The beloved platformer, *Kirby and the Forgotten Land*, has received a significant upgrade with the release of *Star-Crossed World* on the Nintendo Switch 2. This new content enhances the original game with improved graphics, smoother frame rates, and richer textures. The update introduces a new storyline that complements the existing gameplay.
The *Star-Crossed World* expansion centers around a mysterious meteor, the Star of Darkness, that crashes into the ocean, bringing with it a new threat. Players, as Kirby, must team up with an Astronomer Waddle Dee to stop the meteor and its associated dangers. The gameplay involves rescuing celestial beings called Starries, which mirrors the original game's objective of saving Waddle Dees.
The expansion encourages players to revisit existing levels, offering new pathways and challenges. The new Mouthful Mode, Spring-Mouth, allows Kirby to transform into a spring, enabling high jumps and access to previously unreachable areas. The expansion also introduces a new enemy, Galactal, adding to the game's challenges.
BNN's Perspective: While the enhancements and new content sound promising, the decision to release this upgrade on a new console raises questions about accessibility. It would be ideal if such updates were available to all players, regardless of their console ownership.
