Get ready, music lovers! Janet Jackson is set to be honored with the prestigious ICON Award at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs) and will grace the stage with a performance, marking her first televised live performance since 2018. The announcement, made on Tuesday, May 13th, by CBS and Dick Clark Productions, recognizes Jackson's undeniable influence on the music industry.

The five-time Grammy winner, 58, expressed her excitement on Instagram, stating, "Thank you so much, AMAs!! Its an honor. We look forward to being on your stage again. See you in Vegas!" The ICON Award is reserved for artists whose music has significantly impacted the music world, with past recipients including Rihanna and Lionel Richie.

The 2025 AMAs, taking place in Las Vegas on Monday, May 26th, will also feature a performance by Jackson. This exciting news coincides with her Las Vegas residency, JANET JACKSON: LAS VEGAS, which runs for six shows from May 21st to May 31st at Resorts World.

Adding to the star power, Jennifer Lopez will return as the host of the awards show. Lopez, who previously hosted in 2025, will also perform. The show's CEO, Jay Penske, praised Lopez's "incredible talent and incomparable stage presence."

The 2025 AMAs will also see a competitive field of nominees. Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with 10 nominations, followed by Post Malone with eight. Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey each received seven nominations.

Fans can vote for their favorite nominees at VoteAMAs.com until Thursday, May 15th at 11:59 p.m. PST. The American Music Awards, produced by Dick Clark Productions, will air live on CBS and Paramount+ on Monday, May 26th at 8 p.m. ET.
