Google Unveils Expanded Gemini AI Features in Chrome, No Subscription Required

Google is significantly expanding the capabilities of its Gemini AI assistant within the Chrome browser, making it accessible to all desktop users in the United States with English language settings, without requiring a subscription. The rollout, which began today, introduces a new "sparkle" icon at the top of the Chrome interface, allowing users to directly interact with Gemini.

The update includes several enhancements. Gemini can now work across multiple tabs, comparing and summarizing information from different websites. A new recall feature allows Gemini to access browsing history, enabling users to easily find information they may have forgotten.
