Iran Missile Strikes Beersheba for Second Day, Causing Damage and Casualties
For the second consecutive day, an Iranian ballistic missile struck Beersheba, resulting in damage to buildings and injuries to seven people. The attack, which occurred Friday morning, follows a similar strike on Thursday. The missile hit near apartment buildings, creating a large crater and igniting several cars. The shockwave caused significant damage, including shattered windows and damaged balconies. Residents, who had taken shelter in bomb-safe rooms, were evacuated by emergency services.
The IDF reported that the missile was not intercepted by air defenses. An IDF official stated that the military had struck Iranian ballistic missile launchers in Iran, preventing a larger attack. The IDF also reported intercepting three Iranian drones overnight near the Dead Sea and another over Haifa.
In response to the ongoing attacks, the Israeli Air Force conducted a wave of airstrikes overnight, targeting dozens of Iranian military facilities and a nuclear research site. The strikes involved over 60 fighter jets and 120 munitions. The IDF stated that the targets included industrial missile production sites and facilities involved in manufacturing missile components.
BNN's Perspective: The continued exchange of fire between Iran and Israel is deeply concerning. While Israel has the right to defend itself, the escalating violence and targeting of civilian areas are unacceptable. A diplomatic solution is urgently needed to de-escalate the situation and prevent further loss of life.
