Farm Aid is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a massive music and food festival in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on September 20th, 2025. This year's event marks the first time the festival will be held in the state, kicking off a year-long celebration of the organization's four decades of supporting family farmers.
The star-studded lineup for Farm Aid 40 includes board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young (and the Chrome Hearts), John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews (with Tim Reynolds), and Margo Price. Other performers include Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Trampled by Turtles, Waxahatchee, Eric Burton of Black Pumas, Jesse Welles, Madeline Edwards, and more to be announced.
The festival will take place at Huntington Bank Stadium and will feature a full day of music, family farmers, HOMEGROWN food, and agricultural experiences. Attendees can enjoy delicious meals from HOMEGROWN Concessions, featuring ingredients sourced from local, sustainable farms. The HOMEGROWN Village will offer interactive exhibits about soil, water, energy, food, and farming.
Farm Aid was founded in the 1980s by Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, and Neil Young to address the crisis facing American family farmers. Since then, the annual festival has raised over $85 million and featured over 500 artists. The organization continues to advocate for policies that support family farms, promote sustainable agriculture, and strengthen rural communities.
Tickets for Farm Aid 40 go on sale on May 16th at 10 a.m. CDT at farmaid40.org, with prices ranging from $101 to $390. A limited pre-sale begins May 14th.
