Escape From Tarkov Receives Update 1.0.4.5
Battlestate Games has released update 1.0.4.5 for its popular extraction shooter, *Escape from Tarkov*. The update focuses on performance improvements, balance adjustments, and bug fixes.
The update includes several optimizations aimed at improving the game's performance. These include an increased FPS limit in menus, with an option to adjust it in the game settings. Changes to the animation system and audio engine have been implemented to reduce PC resource usage. The architecture of post-raid systems has been reworked to decrease the time required to exit a raid and return to the main menu. Furthermore, a player culling system has been updated on select maps, with plans to expand it to other locations in future updates. Performance on the Streets of Tarkov map has also been improved through environment object and geometry optimization.
In addition to performance enhancements, the update introduces a task progression protection system in local PvE Zone raids to prevent loss of progress in case of unexpected client shutdowns. The left-shoulder firing stance logic has been updated, and the K/D display in character stats now accurately reflects player kills.
The update also brings the second stage of weapon mod adjustments, specifically focusing on barrels and handguards. Barrels now offer greater recoil reduction with higher ergonomics penalties, while handguards are designed to offset these penalties. Muzzle devices and buttstocks have also received adjustments. Base characteristics of numerous weapons have been updated to better align with the new balance, with recoil and ergonomics improvements for a variety of weapon types.
The update also addresses a range of bugs, including issues related to player movement, damage registration, trader dialogues, and various visual and gameplay glitches.
BNN's Perspective:
The focus on performance optimization and balance adjustments in this update is a positive step for *Escape from Tarkov*. Addressing issues like PC resource usage and weapon balance can significantly improve the player experience. The continued commitment to refining the game's mechanics and fixing bugs suggests a dedication to the game's long-term health.
