Amazon Enters Lifestyle TV Market with Ember Artline

LAS VEGAS – Amazon has unveiled its latest foray into the television market with the Ember Artline, a lifestyle TV designed to compete directly with Samsung's The Frame. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026, signaling Amazon's ambition to capture a share of the growing market for TVs that prioritize aesthetics and art display.

The Ember Artline boasts a 4K QLED screen, notable for its slim 1.5-inch profile, designed for versatile placement within the home. The display incorporates a glare-reducing matte screen, optimized for showcasing art and photographs. Users can integrate the TV with Amazon Photos and access a library of 2,000 free art pieces.

To address energy efficiency concerns, the Artline incorporates a proprietary technology that detects occupancy, automatically turning the TV on or off based on room presence. The device also functions as a smart TV, integrating Amazon's new smart assistant, Alexa+. This enhanced version of the digital assistant features far-field microphones and offers conversational interaction. A unique feature of Alexa+ is its ability to analyze a room's aesthetics and recommend art selections for display.

Beyond its lifestyle features, the Ember Artline offers standard TV functionalities. It supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Wi-Fi 6, operating on the Fire TV platform. Customers can personalize the TV's appearance with a selection of ten magnetic frames available in various color options.

Pricing for the Ember Artline starts at $899 for the 55-inch model. The release date is slated for "later this spring."

BNN's Perspective:

Amazon's entry into the lifestyle TV market is a logical move, leveraging its existing ecosystem and brand recognition. The Ember Artline appears to offer a compelling blend of art display capabilities and smart TV features. While the price point is competitive, the success of this product will depend on the quality of the art library, the effectiveness of Alexa+, and the overall user experience. It will be interesting to see how consumers respond to this new offering from Amazon.
