The Los Angeles Dodgers are loaded with stars and should probably make a deep October run on that fact alone. But the man leading the charge for L.A. right now, the one sticking out the most, is Freddie Freeman.
Not only is Freeman second in MLB batting average (.344) right now, he has the third-highest OPS around (1.0005). Have you heard of a guy like Aaron Judge in front of him? I thought so.
And on Tuesday, Freeman extended a now 19-game hit streak against the Washington Nationals. Someone get a loaded bucket of water because Freeman is absolutely scorching on fire.
Freddie Freeman is on another planet.

With all this said, Freemans going to have to do a lot more work to get his second career NL MVP. And hell have to, ironically, unseat a current Atlanta Brave to do it.
At the moment, oddsmakers with DraftKings have Freeman with the second-best odds (+800) to score the NL MVP at the end of the 2023 MLB season. The player who is the clear favorite is Ronald Acua Jr. (+100) the lightning rod paving the way for the Braves, as usual.
Acua Jr. is arguably the best all-around ballplayer in MLB through two months. With four months left on the playing calendar, hes got a real shot at 40 home runs and 40 stolen bases and practically carries the Braves lineup by himself.
None of this is to diminish Freeman, who will likely be in the NL MVP hunt all season long. But hes got one heck of a climb if he really plans to eventually topple Acua Jr.
