Blackpink's Lisa Gets the Documentary Treatment: A Look Beyond the Stage

Get ready, BLINKS! A new documentary is in production, offering an intimate look at the life and career of BLACKPINK's Lisa. Announced by Sony Music Vision at their inaugural content showcase in Los Angeles, the film promises exclusive access to the global pop superstar as she navigates her solo journey.

The documentary, produced in partnership with LLOUD CO/RCA Records and Tremolo Productions, will be directed by Sue Kim. It will follow Lisa for a year, capturing her experiences as she carves out her solo career, separate from the K-Pop powerhouse Blackpink. This period includes the release of her debut album, "Alter Ego," which achieved impressive success, landing in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 and topping the album sales chart. The film will also feature her groundbreaking solo performance at Coachella and her role in season three of "The White Lotus."

Director Sue Kim emphasized the documentary's focus on revealing the "off-stage Lisa," highlighting her down-to-earth personality despite her global fame. Kim, known for her work on A24's "The Last of the Sea Women" and the Apple TV+ docuseries "K-Pop Idols," aims to showcase Lisa's creative vision and the challenges of being a superstar.

The documentary boasts a strong production team, including producers Morgan Neville and Caitrin Rogers for Tremolo Productions, and Sue Kim and Courtney Crockett for Salt Water Productions. Executive producers include Alice Kang and Joojong Joe for LLOUD CO., Peter Edge, John Fleckenstein, and Camille Yorrick for RCA Records, and Tom Mackay, Krista Wegener, and Abby Davis for Sony Music Vision.

Sony Music Vision, in partnership with RCA Records, will present and distribute the documentary. The showcase also featured previews of other upcoming projects, including a concert film about the Oasis reunion tour and documentaries about Barbra Streisand and Elvis Presley.
