Disneyland Resort Celebrates Black Music Month with a Soulful Celebration

Get ready to groove! Disneyland Resort is turning up the volume this June to celebrate Black Music Month with a vibrant lineup of over 40 musical acts. As part of the "Celebrate Soulfully" campaign, the Anaheim theme parks will be filled with the sounds of rhythm & blues, jazz, funk, soul, blues, reggae, hip-hop, doo-wop, and Motown, offering a diverse and exciting experience for guests of all ages.

From June 1st to June 30th, visitors can enjoy over 100 shows across eight different stages throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Performances will take place at Tiana's Palace and Refreshment Corner in Disneyland, Paradise Gardens and Carthay Circle Fountain in Disney California Adventure, Broken Spell Lounge at the Disneyland Hotel, GCH Craftsman Bar at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel, and Downtown Disney.

The musical offerings are diverse, with a variety of bands and artists scheduled to perform. Highlights include the CFLC All-Star Brass Band, Rhythm & Blues Brothas, and the Island Reggae Band. Downtown Disney will host acts like Vancurt, Apollo Bebop, and the Michael Haggins Band. Guests can also enjoy the smooth jazz of the Joe Gardner meet-and-greet at Pixar Place Hotel, the ragtime tributes at Refreshment Corner, and the jazz quintet at Carthay Circle Fountain.

Beyond the music, Disneyland is also highlighting the history and preservation of Black music. The Golden Horseshoe restaurant will feature an exhibit on Black country music, while Main Street U.S.A. will showcase Black banjo masters of the early 20th century through instruments, posters, and recordings. This immersive experience promises to be a celebration of Black artistry and culture, offering something for everyone to enjoy.
