A new report, published at the end of 2025, offers a comprehensive look at digital trends in Ghana for 2026. The data, collected in late 2025, provides insights into the adoption and use of connected devices and services.
Key findings reveal that Ghana had 41.8 million active cellular mobile connections, equivalent to 119% of the population. Internet users reached 26.3 million, representing a 74.6% penetration rate. Social media user identities totaled 8.59 million, accounting for 24.4% of the population.
The population of Ghana was estimated at 35.2 million in October 2025, with an increase of 1.8% from the previous year. The median age was 21.3 years.
Mobile connections increased by 9.3% between the end of 2024 and the end of 2025. Internet users grew by 8.6% during the same period. The median fixed internet download speed was 49.50 Mbps.
Social media user identities increased by 10.0% between late 2024 and the end of 2025.
The report also provides data on specific platforms. YouTube had 8.59 million users, Facebook had 8.40 million users, Instagram had 2.30 million users, LinkedIn had 3.40 million members, Messenger reached 999 thousand users, Reddit had 248 thousand users, and X had 1.17 million users.
