Covid cases on May 8: India logs 1839 new infections, 11 deaths declining trend continues
New Delhi: India on Monday, May 8, logged 1839 case of covid which is again a decline in fresh cases in the past 24 hours. With this, the active case count declined to 25178 from 27212. Additionally, 11 new deaths were reported as per the data on the Central health ministrys website. At the same time, the current active cases in the country comprise 0.06 per cent of the total cases reported so far. A recovery rate of 98.76 per cent was also recorded. Death rate continued to be stable at 1.18 per cent. The vaccination drive also continues in full swing after it was commenced in January 2021, a year after the first lockdown was imposed in March 2020.
