His wife, JacLynn, confirmed his death, stating he died early Wednesday morning while in hospice care with her by his side. Parazaider had publicly disclosed his diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease in 2021, and his wife indicated that his passing was a result of his struggle with the condition.

Parazaider was instrumental in the formation of the band, which began as The Big Thing in 1967. The group was later renamed Chicago Transit Authority before being shortened to Chicago in 1969. Throughout his tenure, Parazaider was a vital member of the band's distinctive brass and woodwind section, contributing significantly to their sound alongside fellow musicians Lee Loughnane and James Pankow.
