ONTARIO Starting today, the Treasure Valley Community College rodeo team will be hosting and competing in rodeo number five and six in the Northwest Regions 10 rodeo competition, according to Head Coach Drew Pearson. The rodeo will be at the Malheur County fairgrounds starting at noon today and concluding Sunday.
The Chukars rodeo program has displayed their talents over the course of the last few years, being ranked nationally and qualifying numerous athletes to the national rodeo.
This year, the mens and womens rodeo teams continue to uphold the Chukars culture of success in the rodeo program, as they are currently leading the Northwest Region in points. Both teams also are ranked in the top five at the national level respectively, according to Pearson.
Up next, the Chukars rodeo teams will travel to Walla Walla, Washington, April 14-15, to compete in the Walla Walla Rodeo. That is hosted by the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association.
