Big Y Appoints Christian D'Amour as Senior Director of Supermarket Operations

Big Y Foods has announced the appointment of Christian P. D'Amour as its senior director of supermarket operations. In this role, D'Amour will be responsible for overseeing the company's five supermarket districts.

D'Amour's career with Big Y began at the age of 14 as a part-time service clerk. After a brief period working in sales and marketing for an insurance company, he returned to Big Y in 2014 as a store director trainee. He quickly advanced, becoming an assistant store director and later a store director at various locations.

Over the years, D'Amour has held several key positions within the company, including district sales and merchandising mentor, where he oversaw sales, merchandising, and team development. He also led Big Y's e-commerce platform from 2021 to 2023. Most recently, he served as district director, overseeing 16 Big Y locations.

D'Amour is a third-generation member of the D'Amour family, with his grandfather being a co-founder of Big Y. He holds a bachelor's degree from St. Michael's College and has experience studying abroad. He reports to Nicole D'Amour Schneider, senior vice president of retail operations and customer experience.
