Arizona Cardinals offensive lineman Isaiah Adams is slated to report for training camp on Wednesday, despite facing multiple gun charges stemming from an investigation in his native Canada. The 25-year-old turned himself in to Durham Regional Police in Toronto on Sunday.

Authorities have charged Adams with four offenses: possessing a restricted or prohibited firearm without a license, possessing a loaded firearm, possessing a prohibited device, and possessing a weapon by crime. These charges are connected to a broader gun and gang investigation.

According to a Durham Regional Police news release, the investigation involved a male suspected of drug trafficking. This individual and a female were apprehended after their vehicle was discovered containing over three kilograms of suspected fentanyl. A subsequent search warrant executed at a related residence uncovered Adams' sister, Allyson, along with two illegal firearms. Allyson Adams is facing the same charges as her brother.

The Cardinals organization acknowledged awareness of the situation. In a statement, the team indicated they would refrain from further comment out of respect for the ongoing legal process.

Adams, a third-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, made significant contributions to the Cardinals last season, starting 11 games. He also started five games during his rookie year. He is currently projected as the team's starting offensive lineman for the upcoming season. However, the team has also drafted Chase Bisontis, a former Texas A&M offensive lineman, who will compete for the starting right guard position.

The offensive line will be tasked with protecting a new quarterback this season. Former starter Kyler Murray has departed for the Minnesota Vikings. Jacoby Brissett is anticipated to begin the season as the starting quarterback for Arizona. However, he may face competition from Gardner Minshew and rookie Carson Beck during training camp. Brissett is also reportedly involved in a contract dispute with the team, having requested a raise following Murray's departure and his subsequent elevation to the starting role. As it stands, Brissett is set to earn $4.88 million this season, with $1.5 million guaranteed.
