High-Speed Chase Ends in Overturned Vehicle, Suspect Apprehended

SAVANNAH, GA - A high-speed pursuit on Ogeechee Road Tuesday evening concluded with a vehicle overturned and the suspect in custody. The incident began when the Savannah Police Department requested assistance from the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) regarding a reported stolen vehicle near Chatham Parkway around 6:37 p.m.

A GSP trooper located the vehicle, a blue Dodge Charger, and attempted a traffic stop. The driver of the Charger refused to comply and initiated a chase. During the pursuit, the Charger collided with two other vehicles while attempting to evade law enforcement. A GSP vehicle also made contact with another car, though the damage was described as minor.

The chase ended when the Charger struck a curb, causing it to overturn. The driver was ejected from the vehicle. After the crash, the suspect attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by officers. Witnesses observed the suspect being handcuffed at the scene.

The suspect, who was reportedly wanted in connection with multiple armed robberies and home invasions, was transported by ambulance for evaluation. The vehicle was also confirmed to be stolen. Authorities are continuing their investigation, and the Savannah Police Department and GSP are present at the scene.
