Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Beta Extended, Coinciding with Battlefield 6 Release
Activision has announced an extension of the open beta for *Call of Duty: Black Ops 7*, adding an extra 24 hours of gameplay. The beta will now conclude on October 9th, just one day before the release of *Battlefield 6*, a direct competitor.
The extension comes in response to positive feedback from players. Activision expressed gratitude for the community's engagement and stated the additional time allows players to experience more content. The beta now includes a sixth multiplayer map, Toshin, and open playlists. These playlists feature classic matchmaking.
To enhance the player experience, Activision is also extending the 2XP + 2X Weapon XP event throughout the remainder of the beta. This is designed to help players reach level 30, experiment with weapons and gear, and unlock attachments and Overclocks.
The beta features a variety of game modes and maps, including:
* Multiplayer: Toshin (NEW), Blackheart, Cortex, Exposure, Imprint, The Forge, Open Moshpit, Moshpit, Open Hardcore Moshpit, Search & Destroy (NEW), Training Course, Team Deathmatch (Core + Hardcore), Domination (Core + Hardcore), Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Search & Destroy
* Zombies: Vandorn Farm (extended to end of Beta), Training Course, Survival
The official release date for *Call of Duty: Black Ops 7* is set for November 14th. Activision also revealed that the anti-cheat measures implemented during the beta were highly effective, catching 97% of cheaters within 30 minutes of their login.
Meanwhile, *Battlefield 6* is nearing its release, with the game's launch scheduled for October 10th.
BNN's Perspective:
The extension of the *Call of Duty: Black Ops 7* beta, timed to overlap with the *Battlefield 6* release, is a savvy move by Activision. It allows them to maintain player engagement and potentially draw attention away from the competition. While the move could be seen as a direct challenge to *Battlefield 6*, it also highlights the competitive nature of the gaming market, where companies constantly strive to capture player interest.
