BYU Football Player Charged with Felony Rape

Provo, Utah – BYU wide receiver Parker Kingston has been arrested and charged with first-degree felony rape following a year-long investigation. The Washington County Attorney's Office announced the charges on Tuesday, stemming from an alleged sexual assault that occurred in February 2025.

According to the Attorney's Office, the alleged victim, a 20-year-old woman, reported the assault. The St. George Police Department initiated an investigation, gathering digital and forensic evidence, and conducting interviews with those involved and other witnesses. The case was then referred to the Washington County Attorney's Office for review.

Kingston, 21, was taken into custody on Tuesday and is being held without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday afternoon. The Washington County Attorney's Office emphasized the seriousness with which it treats allegations of sexual assault and expressed gratitude to the medical professionals and law enforcement officers involved in the investigation.

BYU released a statement on Wednesday, confirming the university's awareness of Kingston's arrest. The university stated that it takes all allegations seriously and will cooperate with law enforcement. Citing federal and university privacy laws, BYU indicated that it would not be able to provide further comment on the matter.

Kingston was a key player for the BYU Cougars during the past season, recording 67 receptions for 928 yards and five touchdowns.

BNN's Perspective:

This is a deeply troubling situation. While the legal process must run its course, the allegations against Parker Kingston are serious and demand a thorough investigation. It's crucial that the university and law enforcement handle this case with sensitivity and respect for all parties involved, while also ensuring due process is followed. The focus should be on justice and supporting the well-being of everyone affected.
