Brad Pitt Opens Up About Angelina Jolie Divorce After Settlement
Brad Pitt is finally speaking out about his divorce from Angelina Jolie, months after the former couple finalized their settlement. In a new interview with GQ, the actor addressed the end of their marriage, which began in 2016 when Jolie filed for divorce.
Pitt, 61, downplayed the significance of the settlement, stating it wasn't a "major thing" but rather "something coming to fruition. Legally." The divorce proceedings, which followed an alleged incident on a private jet in 2016, involved years of legal battles over asset division and child custody. While a judge declared them legally single in 2019, the final settlement was reached in 2024.
The couple, who met on the set of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" in 2005 and married in 2014, share six children: Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, Zahara, and twins Knox and Vivienne. Jolie's lawyer, James Simon, told Entertainment Weekly that Jolie has focused on "finding peace and healing for their family" since the divorce filing.
The FBI investigated the 2016 incident but dropped the case, and a child services investigation also closed without finding evidence of abuse. Pitt acknowledged that his personal life has been a constant subject of media scrutiny for decades. He described the attention as an "annoyance" but emphasized that his life feels "warm and secure" with his loved ones.
