Boston Weather Forecast: Sunny Start to the Week, Then Rain Returns

Bostonians can look forward to a pleasant start to the week, with warm spring temperatures and sunshine dominating the forecast. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the early part of the week will be dry and sunny, offering a welcome respite from recent weather patterns.

Monday promises a beautiful day, with clear skies and a high temperature expected to reach around 73 degrees Fahrenheit. A light southwest wind will add to the pleasant conditions. Tuesday will see some cloud cover move in, with highs dipping slightly into the upper 60s. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy, with temperatures remaining in the upper 60s. Lows throughout the first half of the week will stay in the 50s.

However, the dry spell won't last. A change is on the horizon as a disturbance in the upper atmosphere moves through. The NWS forecasts an increasing chance of showers beginning Wednesday night, after 11 p.m., and continuing into Thursday. While not expected to be a complete washout, expect periods of showers on Thursday and Friday. Highs will remain in the low 70s on Thursday. Friday may see some sunshine return, with partially sunny skies before another chance of showers Friday night. The high temperature Friday is expected to reach the high 70s.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the preliminary forecast indicates a continuation of warmer temperatures, with highs in the 70s, and more chances of rain on both Saturday and Sunday.

BNN's Perspective: While the fluctuating weather patterns are typical for spring, it's encouraging to see a stretch of sunshine and warmer temperatures. The return of rain is expected, but the overall forecast suggests a relatively mild week, allowing for outdoor activities before the showers arrive.
