Brazilian Street Food Truck Brings Bold Flavors to the Islands

A new food truck, Brahi Bites & Bowls, is bringing the vibrant flavors of Brazilian street food to the local culinary scene. Inspired by the communal spirit of Brazilian celebrations, the truck offers a menu of classic dishes made with fresh ingredients.

The owner, Katherine Passos, acquired the truck a year ago and has since redesigned it to create a welcoming atmosphere. The truck's packaging has also been revamped to reflect the bright colors of Brazilian culture while emphasizing sustainability.

The menu features a variety of savory and sweet options. Customers can enjoy mini coxinha, a popular Brazilian snack made with homemade dough filled with shredded chicken and cream cheese, breaded with panko, and fried. Another option is pastel, a crispy pastry with various fillings, including ground beef, spicy ahi, spinach and feta, pizza, banana and cinnamon, and strawberry and Nutella.

The truck also offers ahi bites, inspired by a Portuguese codfish fritter, featuring fresh tuna mixed with cilantro, garlic, and onions, shaped into bite-sized pieces and deep-fried. Other menu items include gourmet churros, acai bowls, and an ahi poke bowl. The acai bowls are served with granola, banana, strawberries, blueberries, and a drizzle of honey, with additional toppings available.

Customers can order in person, through DoorDash, or by phone. Payment options include cash and credit/debit cards.

BNN's Perspective: The introduction of diverse culinary options like Brahi Bites & Bowls is a welcome addition to the local food scene. The focus on fresh ingredients and sustainable practices is commendable, and the variety of offerings caters to a wide range of tastes. The truck's commitment to bringing people together through food aligns with the spirit of community that is often celebrated in the islands.
