Belgrade Couple Honored with Distinguished Community Service Award

The Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce has announced Brian and Amy Bernatchez of Belgrade as the recipients of this year's Distinguished Community Service Award. The couple, recognized for their decades of dedicated service and significant impact on central Maine, will be celebrated at the Chamber's 63rd Annual Awards ceremony.

Brian Bernatchez, a financial advisor for 37 years and founder of Golden Pond Wealth Management, and Amy Bernatchez, a recently retired real estate broker and former field hockey coach, have built their careers on a foundation of both professional success and community involvement. Their nomination reflects their extensive contributions to the region.

Brian's community involvement includes serving on the boards of the Mid-Maine Chamber, Thomas College, the Maine Community Foundation, the Alfond Youth and Community Center Founders Club, and the Belgrade Lakes Association. Amy has been involved with the Mid-Maine Medical Center Auxiliary, Waterville Womens Club, the Alfond Youth and Community Center, the Maine Field Hockey Association, the Maine Sports Hall of Fame, the McGrath-Salmon Lake Association, and MaineGeneral Health. Together, they co-founded the Maine Majestic Field Hockey Club, providing elite training and opportunities for young athletes.

The Bernatchezes' commitment to the community extends beyond their individual roles. They emphasize the importance of teamwork and the lasting impact of their work, particularly in creating opportunities for youth. They have witnessed the evolution of the Waterville area, from its mill town roots to its current status as a recreational, arts, cultural, and college community.
