Baywatch Actress Arrested in Beagle Rescue Operation

Alexandra Paul, the actress known for her role in the 1990s television series *Baywatch*, was arrested over the weekend in connection with an animal rights protest. Authorities apprehended Paul and approximately 20 other activists for trespassing at a breeding facility.

The incident involved a covert operation aimed at freeing beagles from Ridglan Farms, a facility that breeds the dogs for scientific research. Footage captured the activists, dressed in white protective suits, entering the facility and removing the animals. The Coalition to Save the Ridglan Dogs claimed to have rescued 31 beagles. However, law enforcement intercepted eight of the dogs. Some of the recovered beagles were returned to the facility, while several remain missing.

Authorities seized two vehicles and various burglary tools at the scene. The Dane County Sheriff's Office acknowledged the strong emotions surrounding the issue of animal welfare and research practices. They emphasized their commitment to maintaining safety and responding to unlawful activities. The Sheriff's Office encourages individuals with concerns to pursue lawful and constructive avenues for expressing their views.

This is not Paul's first encounter with legal issues related to animal rights activism. In 2021, she was charged with misdemeanor theft for allegedly taking chickens from a truck but was later found not guilty.

BNN's Perspective:

While the passion of animal rights activists is understandable, the actions taken in this instance cross the line into illegal activity. The potential for harm to both the animals and the individuals involved in such operations is significant. Lawful avenues for expressing concerns about animal welfare and research practices are crucial for constructive dialogue and positive change.
