The Who Announce Farewell North American Tour: A Final Bow for a Rock Legend
Get ready to say goodbye! Legendary British rock band The Who is embarking on their final North American tour, aptly titled "The Song Is Over North America Farewell Tour," named after their iconic 1971 hit. This summer, fans across the continent will have a last chance to experience the magic of Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend as they perform hits spanning their incredible six-decade career.
The tour kicks off in Florida on August 16th, with stops in major cities like New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, and Vancouver, before concluding in Las Vegas on September 28th. This farewell marks the end of an era for a band that dominated the world's biggest stadiums in the 1970s, achieving the dream of many musicians by conquering the US charts in 1967.
From their early club shows to headlining Woodstock and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, The Who's impact on rock music is undeniable. Daltrey and Townshend, surviving the loss of Keith Moon and John Entwistle, have continued to carry the band's legacy, delivering anthems like "My Generation," "Baba O'Reilly," and "Won't Get Fooled Again." Their albums "Tommy" and "Quadrophenia" were also adapted into successful films.
Tickets go on pre-sale May 13th, with general sales starting May 16th. While this farewell tour focuses on North America, there are currently no confirmed plans for a similar tour in the UK. Don't miss your chance to witness rock history one last time!
