A previously obscure recording by multi-instrumentalist Phil Cohran, titled *African Skies*, has resurfaced on vinyl, captivating listeners with its unique blend of spiritual jazz and global influences. Originally commissioned by the Adler Planetarium in 1993 for a show of the same name, the soundtrack was initially released in a limited run in 2010, quickly becoming a sought-after item among collectors.

Cohran, a prominent figure in the Chicago music scene, was a member of Sun Ra's Arkestra in the early 1960s and a founding member of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. The centerpiece, "White Nile," features a bowed bass and plucked harp, complemented by Aquilla Sadallas's wordless vocals and Cohran's trumpet solo.
