Adrien Brody Reflects on Working with Beyoncé in "Cadillac Records"
Actor Adrien Brody has shared his positive experience working alongside Beyoncé in the 2008 film "Cadillac Records." In an exclusive interview, Brody, 52, fondly recalled his time on set with the singer, 44, praising her dedication and talent.
"Beyoncé is wonderful, and she brought so much to that movie," Brody stated. He described her as a "wonderful scene partner" who "worked very hard." Brody, who played record-company executive Leonard Chess in the film, also expressed his admiration for Beyoncé, stating, "I also am a fan."
"Cadillac Records" tells the story of Chess Records and the musicians who recorded for the label. Beyoncé portrayed Etta James in the film, performing some of her most iconic songs, including "At Last." Brody recounted the emotional impact of filming scenes where Beyoncé sang James' tunes, describing them as "deeply emotional moments." He noted the beauty of her performances, stating it was "very moving, and I loved it."
The film, directed by Darnell Martin, also featured Jeffrey Wright, Mos Def, Columbus Short, Cedric the Entertainer, and Eamonn Walker. "Cadillac Records" received multiple award nominations following its release.
