A+E Studios Appoints Chris Sanagustin as Head of Current Programming

A+E Studios has announced the appointment of Chris Sanagustin as its new head of current programming. Sanagustin, formerly the president of Pine Tree Entertainment, will now report to Tana Jamieson, co-head and executive VP of creative affairs. The two previously collaborated on the A&E series *Bates Motel*.

In her new role, Sanagustin will be responsible for overseeing scripted projects for the studio. This includes the Netflix series *The Lincoln Lawyer* and the upcoming Lars Kepler Project. At Pine Tree Entertainment, Sanagustin developed and sold projects to a variety of streaming services and networks, including Apple TV+, CBS, Hulu, NBC/Peacock, Netflix, and TBS. These projects encompassed a diverse range of genres, such as adult animation, multi-cam comedies, sci-fi mysteries, and musical dramedies.

Before her time at Pine Tree Entertainment, Sanagustin held a significant position at Netflix, leading Brazilian original content. Prior to that, she served as executive VP of current programming at Universal Television, where she worked on shows like *Bates Motel*, *Brooklyn Nine-Nine*, *Good Girls*, *Will & Grace*, *Superstore*, *The Good Place*, *The Mindy Project*, *Master of None*, and *Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt*. Sanagustin's career also includes senior creative roles at Universal Cable Productions, Syfy, and The WB Television Network. She is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University.
