3,611 new COVID cases, active caseload falls to 33,232, Health News, ET HealthWorld

New Delhi: India has recorded 3,611 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours, while the active cases in the country stand at 33,232 which is 0.07 per cent, as per the Union Health Ministrys bulletin. With 36 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 5,31,642. The mortalities observed were: one death each in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal; two in Uttar Pradesh; three each in Rajasthan, and New Delhi; whereas Maharashtra logged 16 deaths. A total of nine reconciled deaths were reported as per the Ministry of Health portal.A total of 92.74 crores of COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far in the country, and 1,73,263 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, as per the health bulletin. The daily positivity rate is 2.08 per cent and the weekly positivity rate is 2.88 per cent. The bulletin further added that India had administered a total of 220.66 crores total vaccine doses (95.21 crores second dose and 22.87 crores precautionary dose) of COVID-19 have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive. 1,930 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.A total of 6,587 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours increasing the total recoveries to 4,43,99,415. The national recovery rate currently stands at 98.74 per cent.
