Former "16 and Pregnant" star Whitney Purvis is mourning the tragic loss of her son, Weston Gosa Jr., who passed away at the young age of 16. Purvis announced the devastating news on Monday, June 2nd, via a heartfelt Facebook post, sharing several photos of Weston and expressing her profound grief.

In her emotional announcement, Purvis wrote of her "worst nightmare come true," expressing disbelief and the overwhelming pain of losing her child. She described Weston as "perfect" and shared her love for him, highlighting the pride she felt in the young man he was becoming.

Weston's stepmother also shared a Facebook post, revealing that the family found Weston unresponsive on the morning of his death. While the cause of death has not been officially determined, an autopsy was ordered. She mentioned Weston had several health issues, including diabetes. The stepmother described Weston as "brilliant, smart, funny and had so much potential in life."

Weston was born on April 2, 2009, during the first season of MTV's "16 and Pregnant," which documented Purvis's journey as a young mother. Purvis and Weston Sr. later welcomed a second son, River, in 2014. In the years following, Purvis lost custody of both boys and was arrested in 2024 for allegedly failing to make child support payments. The family is requesting privacy during this difficult time.
